Cultivating wiser and more resilient living systems
Regenerative Wisdom is an expression of an integrative worldview and way of being that is emerging in response to our polarizing, fragmented, and volatile times. As this paradigm begins to burgeon, many of those presently inhabiting this way of being include individuals and communities who
Experience the Earth as a living entity and meta-system that holds and relates with all other ecosystems. This includes environments, processes, inhabitants, societies, and cultures;
Cultivate an intimate and symbiotic relationship with the lands and places that hold their homes; consider their life to be both in relationship with and an expression of nature
Integrate multiple streams of information and ways of knowing
Engage people of diverse worldviews; work within and beyond binary ways of thinking, especially in the experience and engagement of time, place, and conflict;
Re-enact expressions of power, capital, and other resource flows through the lens of energy and ecosystems; engage in alternative and generative forms of value exchange;
The Regenerative Wisdom Initiative is a large scale enterprise focused on integrative and transdisciplinary experiments that respond to the challenges of our planetary life conditions.
This includes cultivating somatic, social, and emotional learning rooted in the wisdom traditions of the earth, within and across diverse communities and networks. He currently works with impact investors and change agents across many fields.
Recognize or experience through their bodies and behavior patterns that unhealed traumas are passed down through generations; engage in processes that begin to heal collective traumas of family, community, region;
Understand decolonization and social justice as meta-systemic and inextricably connected to individual and collective healing work;
The beauty and power of re-learning how to inhabit living systems
M. RAKO FABIONAR
M. Rako Fabionar co-creates learning environments that deepen relationships and explore regenerative ways of being. He is a steward of emerging cultures and communities, and a healer who has worked in the fields of higher education, organizational and professional development, and inclusion and equity. Rako has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in sustainable leadership, adult education, and ethnic studies through his affiliations with Presidio Graduate School, Esalen Institute, and the California State University.
He currently directs the work of the Regenerative Wisdom Initiative.
Rako believes that individual and systemic change requires us to address our challenges or wounds, especially those which persist from generation to generation. Without skillful intervention, these collective traumas adversely - sometimes even perversely - shape our behavioral and institutional patterns, extending this impact to our intimate relationships, families, workplaces, communities, and the Earth as a whole.
Rako has a graduate degree in American Studies and a professional certificate in values based organizational design and leadership. He was identified as “one who carries medicine by elders of three lineage traditions (including Boholano and Dagara indigenous traditions) and invited to participate in many healings, trainings, and formal initiation ceremonies the last two decades.
“Rako is an exceptionally wise leader, facilitator, process consultant, and learning system designer. He has consistently led groups to access the collective intelligence, wisdom and empathy needed to move through crises or engage an impactful mission. He is also a deeply experienced healer, quite deft at supporting individuals and groups to heal themselves, integrate past challenges, and envision new futures. We all have something important to learn from Rako, and his profound humility ensures that he will constantly learn from all of us, too.” -Barrett C. Brown, PhD, Managing Director, Apheno Advisory

"Having 'watched' Rako these past years and having had the privilege of hearing his personal and familial stories of healing, I sensed that someday he would be called to become a full-time healer. While undergoing initiation into this shamanic healing work, I've witnessed how he approaches this work with reverence and utmost care and respect for all, the Seen and Unseen. I've watched him create spaces to help students in developing self-awareness and learning how to integrate a sense of the sacred into their lives. It's been my privilege to learn from his gentle and powerful facilitation skills in building a sense of communion and community in groups large and small. -Elenita Mendoza Strobel, PhD, Co-Founder, Center for Babaylan Studies; Author, Babaylan: Filipinos and the Call of the Indigenous

"Rako is uniquely gifted, and his immense talents are matched only by his extraordinary generosity. He's equally fluent in, and moves effortlessly between, the poetry of life on the street and the prose of modern organizational life. One minute he's holding space and creating ritual for a group to access its collective intelligence. The next he's accessing rarified realms of subtle, spiritual being to bring healing to a single person or brainstorm a visionary new reality with that person. He's a natural organizer. People gravitate to him - and he's selfless with this power, using it to bring out the best in others." -Jordan Luftig, Chief Learning and Purpose Officer, UMANA Family; Co-Chair, NEXUS Purpose Lab, NEXUS Global Summit
